Item Description
Ask & Answer
Providing your Arrow shed with a square and level foundation is very important, but the process doesn't have to be complicated. An Arrow Outdoor Shed Foundation Kit can make creating your base a simple and stress-free process. It includes all of the parts you need and, unlike building your own foundation, doesn't require you to have any construction knowledge or special equipment.

Getting a kit is also a good idea if you're interested in reducing your set up time. Building your own foundation, whether it be a wooden platform or a concrete slab, can take anywhere from a day to an entire week. Assembling one of these kits, however, can take less than an hour. When you're on a tight schedule, that time savings can make a big difference.

But you're not just doing yourself a favor when you invest in one of these Arrow Outdoor Shed Foundation Kits. This shed accessory will actually provide your structure with a better base than your other foundation options. Because it raises your floor above the ground, your belongings will be less likely to suffer damage when there's heavy rain or flooding. This is definitely one instance where you don't have to give up convenience for quality.

I would like to have the shed off the ground. What should I use to raise and support the foundation kit?
1 Answer
I apologize, but we do not have any recommendations for lifting this unit. That is considered a personal preference.

I have the FB1014 foundation kit. I have the foundation together, but I am concerned that I might have it upside down. The instructions say to make sure the holes are to the center, but it looks like the holes are on the bottom in the picture. if they are on the bottom, how do you pull out the plywood on it? Tthere must be a reason they say to put holes toward the center! I know to use drywall screws, but where do they go? Please help me understand how to proceed with this.
1 Answer
The channeling that makes up this foundation kit should be positioned so that the channel opening faces down - similar to the letter "n". The center facing holes listed in the manual refer to the holes in the tabs at the ends of the 10192 lengths. These tabs are intended to be bent down and dropped into the 10192 lengths running across the length of the shed floor.

Level and Squared for Good Fit
Once my shed's floor frame was assembled, the kit was easy to install. I squared the corners and leveled the frame before attaching the plywood, then completed my shed.

Arrow Foundation Kit for 5 x 4 Sheds & 6 x 5 Sheds - FB5465
Easy to assemble, but wasn't really needed except if you want to have items not sitting on the ground. It is a frame that has to have plywood or something else like plywood to have the items not sit on the ground.
ProsEasy to assemble
ConsReally is not needed, and kind of pricey for what it consists of.

Good Base for Shed
This floor provided a good base for my shed and was easy to assemble. I found that some of the parts were excluded, but I called the company; the missing parts were shipped immediately.

Needs More Support
This is a good idea for a shed floor, but I think it needs more support ribs. It came with long support ribs as well two small ribs, but I would like to have had more.

Frame Not Very Sturdy
There are some design issues that you need to know about prior to assembly. If you decide to put the front piece onto the frame, then the ramp that comes with the kit cannot be used. Also, the metal cross beams cannot be fastened in place, thereby making the structure much less sturdy.

Perfect Fit
Combine this shed floor with some good plyboard and you have just what you need to store some heavy duty equipment (which is what I do). I purchased this shed floor and did just that.

Slightly Challenging to Assemble
The big surprise that this shed handed to me was that the cross beams only fit into the slots and that there was no design to fasten them in place. The advertisement in the picture does not tip one off to this, so be prepared for some surprises once you have completed the assembly process.

Strong Frame
This has a strong frame. The instructions advise you to use nails, but I prefer self-tapping screws so the boards will not warp.

Easy Installation
This kit assembles and installs easily and secures the shed well. I chose to use screws to fasten it to the plywood rather than nails, which were recommended. I think the price is a little too high.

Overall, a Good Product
Even though this is a product that I liked, there are some negatives that need to be addressed, and I will deal with those first. It is imperative that you handle all of the metal pieces with leather gloves, because they can be very sharp. Also, caulk or sealant must be used, and no mention of this was made at any point in the instructions. On the positive side, each piece is embossed with the specific part number, making it very easy to locate the different parts. Combine the additional bag of bolts, screws, and nuts with clear instructions and you have a product that is quite easy to assemble (my wife and I managed to assemble the frame unit in less than a half an hour.)

Instant Patio
For the size and price, this floor is a great way to have a patio floor wherever you need it. I can move it to another location easily and clean it effortlessly. In full sunlight, it doesn't get hot enough to burn bare feet.
