Long-Lasting
The first winter has gone off without a hitch. The tools seem to be no worse for wear, and I believe they will last for a while.

Excellent Design
Many of the fireplace tool sets we had been perusing were just too long for our stove (freestanding). These were the perfect size, and the obvious quality of the craftsmanship is very refreshing.

Great Deal Online
I know other reviewers have already said it, but the size of this tool set is great for smaller fireplaces. I could only find them online.

Only Problem Is the Brush
If you have a thick carpet where you are planning to put this, I could see you running into some stability issues (the base is kind of wobbly). If you only have a thin carpet or hard floor, this set will be great for you. Make sure you assemble the tools properly, but other than that the only problem I have had is with the bristles in the broom being kind of loose. This isn't as big of a problem for me since I have never used it, but if you are looking for a set with a sturdy broom for ashes then don't buy this one.

Small Footprint
This set is great for people without much real-estate around their fireplace. I have gotten use out of every single one of the tools, and haven't had any problems with any of them. Every thing works exactly as it should. (But, what can go wrong with a shovel, right?) It is reasonably priced and it will make cleaning and preparing your fireplace much easier and a lot faster.

Very Solid
I love the period look that this tool set has. The cast iron construction really makes them feel solid and like they could put up with a lot of abuse.

Dependable, Attractive
Although you couldn't tell by looking at it, the fibers tend to fall out of the broom when it is used. But, my overall experience with this set has been very positive. The tools and stand look great, and (other than the broom) all the tools have put up with quite a beating.

Great for Small Homes
A friend of ours was in need of a good fireplace tool set, so we decided to give him one of these. He lives in a row house, so space around the fireplace was definitely an issue. (Even the fireplace seemed smaller than a normal one.) This set turned out to be just the right size to keep from cluttering up his living space at all. I also really like the look of this set. I could see it going very well with a contemporary décor, but it would also be killer as a Colonial piece. A word of caution about assembly. All of the pieces are packaged in a very specific way, and each handle is very specific to the tool for which it was made. If you get the wrong handle and tool combination, it won't sit on the stand properly.
