By David from Westport, Ontario on December 26, 2012
I have a Vermont casting Resolute wood stove, made in 1985. It is a double door with glass model. I would like to know if I go from the 6" stove flue to 8" metalbestos piping through the attic and roof will this affect the draft and burning of the stove? Will this also affect the W.E.T.T. certification in Ontario Canada?
By Customer Service on December 26, 2012

Answer:
It is not recommended to increase the diameter of flue pipe on high efficiency stoves. Going from 6" to 8" will not improve your draft and may even negatively affect it. Appliances meet efficiency and W.E.T.T. certifications when installed only with the factory recommended size of flue and chimney pipe.
