A fireplace hood is necessary to protect your mantel from excessive heat. This is especially true of vent-free gas log systems, since all of the heat from the fire goes into the room rather than up the chimney. This unit is to be used with the 32" Breckenridge Deluxe, Premium and Select fireboxes, particularly when the firebox facing materials are more than 1" thick. This hood extends 2" farther than standard hoods to give you extra protection. Available in three finishes: matte black, hammered pewter and stainless steel.
