With any gas heating system, safety is a primary concern, and this vent free fireplace has all the safety features for you to be confident in it's operation. The built in oxygen depletion sensor automatically shuts down if oxygen levels become too low, and the burner is 99% efficient to ensure there is no wasted fuel. The fireplace features a sleek, modern style that enhances the contemporary look of any home. An added convenience is the remote control, which allows you to adjust the climate from anywhere in the room.
* Please Note: This unit requires a decorative front. The type of installation you choose determines the kind of front you need. If you want install this unit as a fireplace you must use either a Black Metal Frame with Glass Panel or a Tempered Glass Front with Black Border. If you plan to install it as an insert you must use a Three-Sided Surround with Glass Front. Please take care to order a front that is appropriate for your installation.

We have a regular gas fireplace. Would we be able to replace the log insert with a loft style insert, or is this entirely impossible? We love the look of the loft style compared to the log.

Answer:
If your gas log set is installed into a masonry or manufactured wood burning fireplace, you may indeed be able to use the loft insert in place of the current logs. However, if the fireplace came from the manufacturer as a gas only unit, it cannot be retrofitted.
