Does this come with a frame? 40,000 BTU is more than comparable gas units, why does it need a higher output?

Answer:
The unit does not come with a frame as standard, but can be equipped with one. The proper frame is the FMI Decorative Face Trim for 43" Linear Fireplaces - Matte Black Finish.

Because of the large width of this fireplace, the 40k BTU output is needed for the burner to provide a large, even flame across the entire assembly. The 40k BTU output is the highest available for an indoor vent free appliance by code.
