Spacious Tent But Stores Small
July 9, 2014
If you're looking for a tent, I'd recommend this one. This tent is high quality - everything from the ripstop to the polyester coating, to the durable zippers and the strong vent mesh. I can vouch for the high quality design, and the strong construction of the tent. Even the doors are vented, and the rain shield is excellent. It stores very small but is spacious when set up. I did have problems when I set up the spreader pole, which seemed unusually tight on my tent. Maybe the stitching was off, but it was difficult to get the pole in the correct place, and it pulled a few stitches here and there. Also, the storage bag isn't my favorite. Overall, I would vouch for this tent as a great choice.

Improved Design, Great Camping Experience
May 23, 2014
My Scout Troop needed some new tents, and I decided to go with the new model of 2XTs. The design was much improved over the older model (not that they were bad), so losing the elastic guy lines and getting more space in the tent were both welcomed additions. We found the tent to be comfortable and sturdy when we got it set up (a little challenging), and we really like the added vestibule. When we got the tents, the bags that they came in were very different from each other. At first we though the order might have been wrong, but the tents were all the same. Not sure why that happened, but am very pleased with this purchase.

Simple But Durable
December 28, 2013
I've owned two Timberline tents, and believe this brand to produce high quality tents. The SQ 2XT tent is a cinch to set up, and is well built. I think it's extremely comfortable, and even though the tent itself is not very heavy, it is very durable. The zippers and flies work very well, and water and wind have caused no problems when I've been using the tent. I'm a minimalist when it comes to camping, and this tent fits the bill. I'd definitely recommend it to my buddies.

Great, Durable Tent
July 13, 2013
Eureka has made a wonderful two-person tent that they have designed to last for years. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a well-designed backpacking tent. In some previous models of Eureka tents people were having issues trying to put the spreader rod in the fly, but Eureka has redesigned this model's pocket to close with a little bit of velcro after the rod has been installed. If you are used to the old spreader design, don't use the levering technique to put the rod in the pocket or you might rip the fly. If you have used the 4XT then consider the 2XT to be just as good but smaller. On this model they added a small vestibule to the fly, which is fairly convenient. The plastic parts on the tent are much better than some other people have said, and I expect them to last me for years.

Rugged, Great Design
September 29, 2012
This is one of the best two person tents I have seen. Some extreme backpackers will criticize this tent because of the weight, but that is very much extreme. It may be a couple pounds more than some of the extra lightweight gear for camping, but since it is such an important piece of equipment I don't think that a couple extra pounds is anything to complain about. Also, for its size this tent is very well built. The A-frame gives it excellent all-weather durability, and with some good stakes it will be rock solid. I would recommend getting some sturdier metal stakes. As with most tents, the ones it comes with aren't necessarily the best. The added vestibule that they changed this time around is great for keeping stuff out of the way when you need extra space in the tent, and the optional second one is great if you need even more space. This tent is an excellent buy.

Comparable Quality
August 28, 2012
I've been using a different tent since the mid-90's, but it finally wore out. I was hesitant to buy another Timberline, since my previous experience wasn't that great. However, I purchased the SQ 2XT and am happily surprised. Though not as costly as my original tent, it is high quality and I think it will be a great tent for me. I'm 71 years old, and find this tent easy to pop up. It's lightweight, and I appreciate the design.

Motorcycle Camping Approved
August 20, 2011
I like to go motorcycle camping, and this tent was just right for my needs. Even though I didn't run into bad weather and can't attest to how dry the tent stays, it seems very sturdy. It's just right for my gear and myself. The tent is comfy, and every part of it worked just fine. I think it packs up a little heavy, but since I pull a trailer it's not a problem.

Great for Minimalists
May 23, 2011
I have to say that this tent seemed more like a four season tent than a three season. It was rock solid in the wind, kept me completely dry, and was well ventilated. I tend to go with smaller equals better when camping, so this little excellent tent was great for me. Setup was extremely easy for a single female like myself. I really don't have anything bad to say in regards to this tent.

Lightweight, Easy Tent - Great Gift!
March 10, 2010
I'd recommend this tent to my friends! Even though it is lightweight, it is very sturdy. It was a cinch to set up, but didn't have any problem staying in place when it rained and the winds picked up. Very durable and comfortable, it made our camping trip very enjoyable. I received this tent as a gift and loved it. If you're into backpacking or mountaineering, it'd be great because it's so light. But it's sturdy enough for lots of use in your back yard, too. Great tent!

Tent Perfect for Scout Camping
November 14, 2009
This is one of my favorite tents! I've had several Eureka Timberlines over the years; this is one of my favorites. I do scout camping about 15 times a year, and have never had a problem with this tent. It is simple to set up, endures through rain and wind, doesn't weigh very much, and the moving parts (zippers and such) work just as they're supposed to. I definitely recommend this tent to my scouts and friends.

Easy Setup but Durable in Weather
July 5, 2009
I highly recommend this tent! This model is worth every penny. I work with Boy Scouts, so have the opportunity to use the tent monthly. One trip, we got caught in a deluge of rain, and while every other tent flooded, my tent stayed dry! It's durable, waterproof, but very easy - I don't have to waste time focusing on setup. This tent offers real quality and simplicity.
