Even Good Tents Have Bad Days..
September 9, 2013
Used this tent Labor Day on the James River near Charlottesville Va. We picked a rock bar to set up shop. Rain chances were less than 30%. Which turned into 100%. A Super Cell passed our way dumping rain on us for hours. Wind gusts we over 50 mph and tarps flew everywhere but the tent stood like a rock. The vestibules are hard to get in and out of but are so worth the extra space. I used one on the back side of the tent to store gear. I put a 7 x 5 tarp as the vestibule floor and folded the outer edges in to form a triangle in the same shape of the vestibule. which could double as a cover for a port-a- let. The Tent went up in less then 10 minuets with one person. Two people with cots fill it 2/3 of the way. the fly kept the tent dry. the tub floor kept us dry as well. At 2 am our water alarm went off telling us the river was rising fast. the river was at our tent door. The fire pit was flooded from the bottom up and our wood pile of 30 logs was gone. time to move asap. Every thing had to move and move fast. The rain fly unhooked from the footprint and was balled up into a duffel bag. The tent unhooked from the frame and the frame went into a chair bag. Take down time with 2 people was 3 minutes. As we piled everything into the canoe the rock bar was now 6 inches under water and rising.. Our friends 10 x 14 dome tent and chairs were left behind as time ran out . We got out wet but alive .. And with our tent...
Pros:
Sturdy and roomy. corded poles, color coded corners help with the set up. the tent, fly and footprint all have this. 14 Tie downs on the fly keep this tent in place . And in an emergency this tent can disappear in a blink of an eye. 2 people with practice could set it up in 5 minutes.. and weighs in at 15 lbs. storage net in all 4 corners and a place to run a clothes line at the apex too.!
Cons:
The vestibule are low to enter. but work well. tent stakes are small and meant for soil.

Can’t Outperform This Tent!
July 3, 2013
Having used this same tent for more than decade and in a variety of rough places, I can say that it has been top-notch. On the mountain, in the snow or woods, this tent is up to the task. It has weathered winds upwards of 50 miles per hour, and heavy snow. I will say that it is a little weighty, but it has held up through a lot of bad weather.

Tent Withstood Fierce Winds
July 3, 2013
This is an impressive tent! In addition to being simple to setup and lightweight, it is wind resistant. When facing winds of 50 to 70 miles per hour, this tent did not budge. Some of the other tents near us became airborne, but this tent weathered the storm with no problem.

First-Rate Product
July 3, 2013
Among the benefits of this tent are its robustness, user-friendliness, and water-resistance. We have also never had a problem with the fly. My wife and I have used this tent dozens of times without a hitch. We are thrilled with this product.

I Own Seven
July 2, 2013
Overall I’m extremely happy with this tent. I’ve been using it for many years now to take groups of students out West, and I own seven of them. If I could change one thing it would be the design of the new fly’s extensions—they tend to catch the wind. But the tent is comfortable, easy to set up, wind- and waterproof, and easy to assemble.

Updated and Improved
July 2, 2013
I owned an earlier version of this tent way back in 1984. Lots of great memories of years of traveling around the country with my kids. It served us well, and this model is even improved over that one. Now I look forward to my grandchildren spending many nights in it too!

Lightweight and Comfortable
July 2, 2013
The fly works well, the tent is lightweight and waterproof and windproof. We set it up easily and found it to be comfortable when camping for 12 days. It’s a roomy tent—two doors and plenty of headroom. We liked the adjustable tie-downs—they worked great in our small campsite. We also like the extended fly, which gave us room to leave our shoes outside and keep the inside of the tent clean.

Good Upgrade
July 2, 2013
We’ve been camping with a four-man tent for over 30 years. When it was time to replace our old tent, we decided to upgrade to this model. We used it for the first time last weekend—a heavy thunderstorm came up, but the tent stayed dry inside. It’s roomy too—I love being able to stand up inside! Great zipper system. Easily assembled or disassembled by two people, although it’s helpful if one person is tall enough to reach the midsection and can assemble the cross pole. In short, waterproof, sturdy, easily assembled, windproof, comfortable!

Our Boys Love It
July 2, 2013
Our three young boys are enjoying this tent—it’s set up right now in our basement, and we can tell it’s going to be a great tent for camping. Super easy setup. The only negative is that it is heavy—its weight and large footprint make it not so desirable for true backpacking. But it is great for the backyard, for car camping, and for short walks into the woods. Very spacious—I can stand up in it easily, and I’m six feet tall. I recommend this sturdy, spacious, easy-to-set-up tent!

Fly Works Well
July 2, 2013
This is a top-quality tent. It’s waterproof, windproof, sturdy, easy to set up, and the fly works well. Zippers are heavy duty and should last for years. External loops to secure the fly with additional lines allow it to hold up well in wind and rain. Construction is heavy duty, but the tent isn’t heavy to lug around.
