We had an outdoor fireplace built. We didn't realize until after the project was complete that the "hole" to the damper was too small for the large opening at the front. Is there something that I can purchase to help draw the smoke out?

A chimney draft fan could be installed to create an artificial draft. The size of the fan would be determined by the dimensions of the chimney flue. Another option would be to use a metal smoke shelf to make the opening of the fireplace smaller. By Michael Cheng from Centreville, VA on December 31, 2012
Can a blower be added to a gas fireplace?
By Customer Service on December 31, 2012
Answer:
Most models do allow for a later installation of a blower. However, in some cases this can be a hassle. To avoid potential costly re-framing expenses, it is recommended to get the blower with the fireplace at the time of purchase. By Gary from Patrick, SC on January 7, 2013
