This gas coal basket gives you synthetic clean burning coals. The basket has an elegant and traditional black and brass finish and features an electronic pilot ignition. It comes with modulating remote control. The basket put out 20000 BTUs of clean and efficient natural gas heat. Though it comes in natural gas, it is also available in propane gas. This reduced depth natural gas coal basket is made by Aspen Industries and features a limited lifetime warranty.

I have a small 1887 coal fireplace that I want to get a ventless gas coal basket for. Do you have one and if so, how would I block off the flue, as this fireplace doesn't have a damper. If I use a coal basket such as this, what would I need to do to my chimney flue?

Answer:
These gas coal baskets can only be used in a vented application. As such, the dampers will need to remain open and the chimney flues will need to be in good working order. Unfortunately, we do not currently offer a vent free version of this type of coal basket.
