When ordering this fireplace,how do we know what type and how much chimney pipe to order for installing it? We want to vent it outdoors and our roofline is 8 feet from the deck.Does one normally build a chase? Is there someplace on your site
that shows the specs for this fireplace including all clearances and parts needed for a complete installation?

Answer:
This fireplace usesFMI's 8" diameter chimney pipe. This fireplace requires a minimum height of 14.5 feet from the floor of the fireplace to the termination cap. Clearances, parts, and additional information can be found here.

Can the louvered section on the bottom of a B36l be removed to install a BK blower kit, if not how is it installed if the fireplace has already been installed?

Answer:
Yes, the FMI BK blower can be added after this FMI Bungalow B36L fireplace has been installed. The lower louver assembly would be removed, as well as the front bottom refractory panel and the access panel underneath. We will email you a .PDF with installation instructions in a separate email.

This unit is designed for indoor use only, as the chassis in manufactured from galvanized metal. For outdoor installations, a unit such as the Vantage Hearth Laredo 36" Outdoor Woodburning Fireplace with White Stacked Brick Liner - VS36 would be the proper item. This unit features stainless steel construction and is designed to last when exposed to the humidity of an outdoor environment.

Answer:
Your search is largely over. The Bungalow line of fireplaces by FMI is among the easiest to install. They require nothing but model specific vent pipe and they only require electricity if you plan to install an optional blower.

Answer:
Yes, you will need to use the FMI chimney pipe for any FMI fireplace. Unless you already have FMI 8" inner diameter class A pipe, you will need to replace your existing pipe with it for any FMI fireplace. We do sell this pipe, and you can see a 48-inch length of the 8" diameter pipe that this 36" Bungalow requires here:

We want to install the FMI Bungalow in our 8 x 16 room on an outside wall that is only 8 feet. Will it be possible to use it in this size room? How many inches does the hearth need?

Answer:
The hearth extension at the front of the fireplace needs to be at least 58.75" wide to adhere to the manufacturer's specifications. A perpendicular wall may not be within 14" of the opening of the fireplace. If the fireplace is centered on the 8' wall, you will have enough room to either side to be within the clearance requirements.
