This Manual Acumen RCK-I On and Off DC Remote Control Kit comes an easy to read backlit LCD screen that displays the room temperature. The unit comes with a self matching receiver and transmitter and this remote also comes with an easy to access battery drawer. The remote control also has a self-matching receiver and transmitter and comes with a childproof switch. This remote also features an insulated heat shield and a built in overheating protection switch.

The fireplace works manually, but the remote will not start the fire.

Answer:
It is possible that your remote is defective. However, a simple and oftentimes effective repair is to replace the batteries in both the transmitter and receiver. Has this been attempted? If the slide switch on the remote receiver is moved to the "On" position, will the fireplace light?
