This direct vent gas fireplace insert is the perfect modern touch for your home. With its sleek, contemporary design, this fireplace insert is approved for bathrooms, bedrooms, and mobile homes. This gas fireplace has a hinged ceramic glass door, a Crystaline ember bed with four Crystalites, and a fuel saving electronic ignition with back up battery. This gas fireplace even has a built-in circulating blower and a flame/heat control. This gas fireplace is a beautiful and efficient choice to warm your home.
* Please Note: This fireplace insert is designed to use natural gas. If you select propane as your fuel type, a conversion kit will be included with the unit. Also, the insert is shown with separately purchased fireglass.

My house is oceanfront. There is a window set at a corner angle in the living room. Since the house is light, I could steal part of this window to insert a ribbon linear fireplace in, and put a fixed panel of glass at the top - approx dimension of the window space would be about 7' wide and 10' high ....is this even possible?

Answer:
This particular appliance is a true insert and must be installed into a pre-existing fireplace. So, unfortunately, it will not work for your application. However, our Empire Loft may be a suitable option. This fireplace (and lost like it) will require full framing for proper installation. To terminate horizontally, the flue will also require a solid 24" of vertical rise prior to turning horizontal. Further, the horizontal termination cannot be installed closer that 12" to a window (fixed or operational). These requirements may serve to make installation with the window difficult.
