I'm looking at buying a Napoleon GD-34 and plan on buying a blower kit with it. What kind/size of electrical outlet box do I need to place next to the fireplace for the blower? Does the controller switch for the blower mount directly on the front of the fireplace unit, or do I need to provide either a single or double gang outlet box for the controller switch/switches?

Answer:

The power outlet required is a standard 110 volt plug, mounted into a single gang switch box. Normally, the rheostat control would be mounted at the bottom of the fireplace, behind the louvers. However, it is possible to splice into and extend the wiring for the rheostat, allowing you to mount it higher on the wall.
