Ask & Answer
If you're a hearth service professional, you know you can't deliver outstanding results without the right materials. This Dry Refractory Mortar Mix from Rutland is just that: the right material for the right job. If you're looking for a reliable mortar to repair/join masonry flue tiles, or need a high-quality parge coating for building fireboxes, then this is the mortar for you. A simple air curing allows this tough mortar to withstand temperatures as high as 2,550 degrees Fahrenheit--and develop a compressive strength of more than 2,500 psi. This mortar resists acid and water damage, and meets NFPA211, 1988 edition and NYSCMA Tek Spec No. 3 requirements.
* Please Note: This mortar contains calcium aluminate cement and crystalline silica. It should not be used without safety goggles, chemical resistant gloves, a rubber apron, and a NIOSH/MSHA-approved dust respirator.
