What type of prep work is necessary to do before applying this polish?
I have an old Atlantic Stove Works wood stove that has never been used but was sitting in a barn and rusted.
I have brushed the surfaces to remove debris and rust and am now ready to start restoring it.

Answer:

If any deposits of rust or corrosion still exist, continue sanding with a fine grit paper or use an emory cloth until all remaining deposits have been removed. You can then wipe down the stove with a lightly dampened cloth, making sure to wipe away any remaining dust. The stove is then ready to polish. The more time spent polishing the stove, the better the result will be.
