The sturdy mantel can support up to 85 pounds and will accommodate a 42" flat screen TV. It is made from China oak, MDF, and PB with ash veneer, and some assembly is required. The economical electric fireplace plugs into a standard outlet and will produce 5000 BTU using about the same energy as a coffee maker. Realistic flickering LED flame effects add visual interest. A thermostat and the included remote are used to control both heat levels and flame brightness. Safety is provided by the thermal overload protector.
