This Wood Burning Furnace with Twin Blowers will allow you to add heat and warmth to your home without having to install an entirely new system. This furnace system will work with any existing furnace and HVAC ductwork. It includes efficient twin 550 CFM blowers and produces 52,350 to 139,601 BTU's per hour. This unit will effectively heat 1,600 to 2,400 sq. ft! The automatic bi-metal draft damper, the built-in ash door and removable dump pan and grates are all included. Two 8" heat outlets simplify connection to ductwork. This system comes with heavy-duty cast iron doors, grates, and liners.

I am thinking about this wood burner as an addon to my gas fired furnace. What modifications would need to be made to accommodate my system; i.e. cold air return and what is the mandatory size smoke effluent pipe needed?

Answer:
In order to use this unit in conjunction with an existing furnace, it must be located in close proximity and duct its outflow into the plenum for the furnace. This is done by using a pair of 8 inch supply ducts. Cold air will need to be supplied from the return plenum at the base of the furnace. This can be done by using the available filter box or by fabricating a return duct to the base of the unit.

A 6" chimney system can be used for this unit. Standard 6 inch chimney connector (stove pipe) can be run to the first combustible wall or ceiling, then converted to Class A chimney for the remainder of the run. Class A chimney can be used from the unit as well, for longevity purposes.
